Jenny Calahan

Jenny Calahan graduated in 2018 with a degree in Astronomy and Physics. She previously served as the Astronomy Club Vice President, and before that, the President. During her time as an undergraduate, she did research with Dr. Yancy Shirley on pre-stellar cores. She studied abroad in the Fall of 2016 in Canberra, Australia at Australian National University where she also did research at Mt. Stromlo. In addition, she participated in a summer research opportunity at the Harvard Smithsonian Institute for Astrophysics in Summer of 2017. She received the Outstanding Senior Award from the Astronomy Department in 2018, and the Overall Outstanding Senior from the College of Science. Jenny will be doing research at Leiden University in Summer of 2018, and will be beginning her PhD program at the University of Michigan in Fall 2018.

Jenny participated in singing in choir, soccer, and UA’s Blue Chip Program.
