Star Parties

We are currently accepting star party requests. As university policy shifts to reflect the status of the coronavirus pandemic, all university guidelines regarding masks and social distancing at the time of a star party must be upheld at the event (and outdoor spaces are preferred if possible). Please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Thomas Joyce, with any questions. You can find his contact information on our contact page.

Outreach and Education

The University of Arizona Astronomy Club is very passionate about education and outreach, and we will be happy to host a star party for your school, no matter the grade level. We have the ability to provide telescopes and interactive demonstrations and models for students at Open Houses, Science Nights, class-specific events, or any other school function you desire. Daytime solar observing is also a possibility. We strive to make astronomy fun and accessible to everyone, and we will be happy to explore accommodations for students with disabilities.

If you wish to book a star party or would like more information, [please fill out the form below], or contact Thomas Joyce using the Contact Us page. We look forward to sharing our passion for the Universe with your students!

Private Events

The University of Arizona Astronomy Club is pleased to offer a variety of stargazing and engaging hands-on science activities for our private star parties. We guarantee amazing night sky viewing experiences with our telescopes, guided by our trained and enthusiastic club astronomers. Most star parties involve 2-3 telescopes and 3-4 operators for 4 or 5 hours, but these details can be altered to suit your needs. Daytime solar observing is also a possibility. For younger children, we also provide entertaining arts & crafts, such as planet painting, crater-making, and comet-making, designed to help them learn about celestial objects. Prices vary depending on distance and services provided. Great for business meetings, birthday parties, conferences, and other large events! Proceeds from the star party go entirely to club projects and activities.

If you wish to book a star party or would like more information, [please fill out the form below], or contact Thomas Joyce using the Contact Us page. We will strive to make your night enjoyable and memorable, and we thank you for your interest in the University of Arizona Astronomy Club!
